Marrakech


Marrakech will be the second largest city of Morocco and is called the Red town. It has about 800,000 people and many of the houses are colored read. It is truly a colorful city of leisure and it is called the one of the pearls of morocco. It it has markets and many upcoming industries and is the key economic heart. It lies in the root of the Atlas Mountains and this allows it an incredibly beautiful site. Like many north African towns it's generally divided into medina which is the old fortified city along with a modern town nearby (called Gueliz). The town includes a wonder climate with shining white cold winters and warm humid summers. It's the heat and the sociability of the people that's world-famous.


The name probably has been based on Berber words ‘ mur(d) akush ‘ which suggests the area of god. Till a few years ago, the Arabs, Europeans, and Persians, named Morocco Marrakech's Kingdom. It was founded within the 11th century and was the main city of an empire that stretched from Spain to Senegal. In the earlier days it was a major spot to the crossroads of caravans going in Timbuktu's way for trade. Though originally just used like a resting put it was later was bought out by the head of Almoravids, Abou Bekr as being a strategic location for soldiers. His uncle Youssuf Ibn Taschfin developed the first mosque along with a home. The 12-century saw the Almohads further developing it. It turned came beneath the Saadian Kingdom of Ahmed El Arj in the 16th century. They construct several remarkable structures and tombs that have been well maintained. 1917 saw it being ruled by Pasha El Glaoui underneath the French rule. Afterwards the capital was changed to Rabat and Marrakech became a provincial capital. It is currently Marrakech Tensift el Haouz region's administrative centre with the area of 31,160kms.
